Ah, the beauty of ambiguity. A true postmodernist's delight. People's tolerance for ambiguity is a worthwhile phenomenon to observe. Some are just able "to live within the questions" while others are not. I guess this is why we usually get two very different reads of "the Shack" depending on people's perspective and said tolerance. Paul Y's unique and imaginative take is an articulation for those questions that many of us struggle with on a daily basis. See you soon, Paul, for you talk at King College/Buechner Institute. I will be your ride for the early flight home!
Best,
amr

I truly felt at lost after reading The Shack...I felt that I no longer had a dialogue with the Trinity...I did come to grips with myself & hopefully I too can comfortably talk with my spiritual Father at anytime & anyplace.
Sounds like you have the making of another great book & super read.....Thank You for sharing your pearls of wisdom with me.
Your book was a wonder, beautiful, healing and hopeful. People that need to be right, need to put God in a box, don't get it. Thank you for expanding our view of God.

I am a pastor here in Arizona who LOVES to read. For some reason I had seen your book but never quite picked it up, but when I did.....WOOOO-WHOOO!! Jackpot!!! I was absolutely in awe with the accuracy in which you displayed our God. I had convinced myself that it must have been a true story because it is not easy to find someone who so acurately displays not only the desires and presence of our God, but His actual character???!!!! Wow! I am sooo impressed. I know that you can be discouraged by the negative and inaccurate comments you hear, but choose to look at all of the lives that God has used you to change as a result of this book. Even old Christians can see that they haven't been relating to God in the way that they are able to. One of my brothers told me that it had been a long time since he had remembered that God is really just that real. I would love to read your other work as well. Thank you! I pray that Papa would continually bless you and your family and that you would forever walk in the healing power of Her presence. Ciao!! Thank you again!

The book had a great inpack on me and here is the anwer which I found
The Shack is about the 5th dimension, where everything is LOVE. This is our future! Poor Mack, has to go back to the 3th dimension, because, he has to get more healing, until he is whole.

I don't think I'd be worried about being called a "universalist" -- I think God must (by definition) be a "universalist"!

The Shack was a gift from my father. He bought one for himself and my mother and one for each daughter. The book caught me in a way that I couldn't stop reading it. Besides its magnificent writing the story is really touching. It's unique. I have never felt the way I'm doing right now after reading a book, and I have read a lot of great books. The Shak affected me deeply. It gave me answers, it made me understand some questions with which I've been fighting for a long time. I really believe that this is the real nature of God and the dialogues are so true that we end up believing that God was really there, with Mack, Jesus and Sarayu. Your book, Paul, made me want to build a closer relashionship with Him. Thanks a lot.
