Dessert at Houston Pediatric Hospice Butterfly Luncheon

The Houston Hospice event went wonderfully, 500+ folks attending a benefit luncheon that raised over $200,000 for pediatric Hospice. Saw many people from last year and got to do a little catch-up.

Quick change of clothes before Nina and Smith J drove me to their home, where I am spending the night. Smith and I then headed for a private tour of NASA. Smith is an astronaut doctor, overseeing many of the space teams and a week from Friday involved in his 18th launch from Florida. He was the doctor for the team on the Columbia that exploded shortly after takeoff. They were all friends. Below I have posted some of the pictures from the Houston Space Center.

Then it was back to the J house for a home cooked supper, which we ate outside with their sons Smith (Jr) – 17 – and Matt – 15 -, along with great conversations about all manner of things. I called and talked with Renee G whose mom fell asleep a couple days ago, telling her how sad I am for her and how thankful I am for her mom. Next, we had some ice cream and strawberries for dessert, more conversation, a call to Kim, and off to bed.

So today my blog is mostly pictures of the day…hope you enjoy.
