This book will console those who have lost a child and help them come to a green meadow of forgiveness and peace no matter how long it takes. God is patient.
All of us would like to experience this shack for wounds that leave scars. Nothing is ever the same when we are wounded, even the scars leave us different somehow. But forgiveness is the balm that softens them.

This book has touch me profoundly and has and continues to make me revisit my thinking and relationship with God. I have just finished reading it and I know that I will revisit it many times. It is difficult to put into words how this “story” has changed me already. I am not sure that I will ever be able to express or explain how I feel, think and believe all because of this one piece of writing. It is amazing what what it has done for me and the message(s) that it holds for many. I will be recommending this book to many.

acabei neste momento de ler ‘A Cabana’ e me sinto completamente emocionada e transformada! Espero que Deus tenha usado esse livro para que algumas áreas da minha vida tenham sido tocadas e transformadas.
Aqui no Brasil o livro está fazendo maior sucesso!!! Pena que esse blog nem o site não podem ser traduzidos pro português é uma pena!
Mas, William, você realmente conheceu Mackenze? E isso aconteceu mesmo? É tão magnifico que parece mentira, mas vindo de Deus tudo pode ser verdade mesmo, porque Deus é magnificamente tremendo!!!!!!!!

Dan Polk had suggested I post this poem I wrote. The Shack made such an incredible impact on my life, I wanted to share the grace-filled peace in my heart that came from the gift of a true relationship with Papa. Thank you Paul.

At Last – Outside the Shack

Memories triggered by fragrances from the past, blurred thoughts that don’t last,
tears falling fast and free – help me Papa, I want to see. Something happened so long
ago…tunneled by vision conservative in direction, arms length affection, questions
unspoken, dreams broken, a heart so sad, always thinking I was bad.
A half a century ago two pictures hung on my bedroom wall – both of Jesus, the first
with His children on His lap and at His feet, a lamb cradled so sweet. The other, Jesus
praying in the garden, sorrow filled questioning and resigned answering in the same
breath – knowing the outcome because of His depth. I longed to be with His children
in the field, totally accepted, able to yield…instead full of guilt, always running full tilt.

Thank you Jesus for revelation discerned, for Your immeasurable grace so unearned…
for outstretched hands holding mine – tenderly telling me you love me too, having
always been at my side, Your gentle heart Sarayu, saying – just come, abide.

Starting over, rebirthed anew…watching the eagles soaring high above, wrapped in
Your love Papa and joining their flight – Hallelujah, precious sight.

The nations uniting, no more senseless fighting, eyes so focused and intent, beautiful
clarity on why You were sent. The lifting of the veil – heaven, not hell. One
grace filled word joyously spoken…believe My child, just receive. And Your children
say Amen, again and again !

This book is absolutely beautiful, one of the best I have ever read. Thank you so much for sharing the images and depth you so easily bring to your readers…like walking on water!
But, I have to say, this is one book I think should NOT be made into a movie….I really think it should live in our minds and hearts, and not on a big screen. (Sarayu would not want to be “pinned down”!!!)
I read the book in English, but I just saw it in German, too…I live in Innsbruck, Austria, and will be giving it as a gift to people here!
How blessed we all ARE.
